Recap of the Week

Hello, Hello! Nothing too exciting going on here… I just noticed I had taken an abnormal amount of pictures this week so I thought I’d share them with you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you enjoy them!ย
On Monday I received Cassie’s Save the Date for her wedding in October! Yay! Isn’t it so cute?! I can’t wait to get my Invitation! ๐Ÿ™‚ย
I also had to ask Tyler to bring me some stuff from home that I needed. I sat outside in the beautiful weather and waited for him to come to school. Someone was playing an electric violin and guitar on the Student Center’s steps. It was a nice little reminder of why I absolutely love the atmosphere of OCU! ๐Ÿ™‚
Tyler and I also decided to make some DELICIOUS shakes. Strawberry Swirl ice cream… real strawberries… and blackberries! It was AMAZING. Needless to say… we’ve made them every day since! ๐Ÿ™‚
Here is Dashy trying to get in on the action too… I think it’s so funny how Tyler can still hold him on one arm. When we first got Dash, he fit into Tyler’s palm! ๐Ÿ™‚

On Friday, when I got home, I found this outside of Dash’s box. Neither Tyler or I smoke… so I was little concerned/nervous. Tyler and I went to the office to see if maintenance had been in our apartment (we had put a work order in after water was leaking from the bathroom above ours and the hole that had been cut into our wall by our kitchen sink in last week’s overflow…). They said they’d call us and let us know… we’re still waiting for this phone call….ย
To add insult to injury… about 1am Saturday morning, Tyler discovered water was seeping through our carpet in the hallway and there was a puddle under our dishwasher… Awesome. So he called the emergency maintenance man who said he’d be out… Tyler waited until 5am and he didn’t come until 9am. Awesome X2. Can you see the dark spot? Finally, a carpet guy, who complained about the horrible seams that had been made from previous carpet work, came and ripped out the padding and said he’d be back to replace it after the water dried… Oy. Problem after problem.
So, to round out our Saturday afternoon, Tyler and I headed to an apartment near by that we’ve had our eyes on for a while now, to talk about getting a lease with them. We looked at an apartment, talked rates, and availability.
Overall, the management seemed much nicer than our current apartment. She also said we were the 6th people to stop by in two weeks from our current apartment complex. Yikes.ย
Next step is for us to figure out if we can get out of our lease before it’s actually up in June, or if we have to wait. Tyler wants to check out a couple of other places just to make EXTRA sure… but we’re both ready to move. We’ve put up with so much at this current apartment… it was a good “starter” apartment, but we’re ready to move on.ย
We’ve had many discussions about it and we’ve considered moving NUMEROUS times, but I think this might be it. I’ll have to do another post sometime off all the issues we’ve had here… it’s a long list… that’s continuing to grow. But we’re ready and we both liked the apartment complex we looked at today… so it’s just a matter of time. We’ll be sure to keep you up-to-date on the saga of apartment searching/ moving. We’ll, of course, have to have a house-warming party when we move! ๐Ÿ™‚
Until Next Time,

Saturday Ramblings

Look at that! I’m back… Twice in one week! It’s a miracle I tell you! ๐Ÿ™‚
Not only am I back, but I’m back with PICTURES! Whoa! Look-out… a new Megan has arrived! (Ok, let’s not get TOO carried away!) But my previous update did spark my desire to keep you all informed… Is anyone even out there?! ๐Ÿ™‚
So here you are… Update #2 of Spring Break! ๐Ÿ™‚
As I mentioned in my previous post, Tyler and I went to get my Engagement Ring cleaned the same night I got my hair cut. I took a before and after picture… can you tell the difference?
Before: ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย
ย After:
Tyler had to work today, so I, once again, worked on some homework! Yay. Such an exciting life! (The sad part? I actually enjoy doing that haha.) Today was also Tyler’s last day with his current company… He has officially been offered a position through the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers – aka – “the Union”)! Long story short – he’s been trying to get in with them for a while through a deal that was taking too long and starting Wednesday he will begin work for them! Finally! ๐Ÿ™‚ So to celebrate… and to get me out of the house… we went to the movies tonight! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was super excited to get all dressed up and style my hair for the “first” time with the intent of being in public! (I had styled it just to “train” my bangs, but nothing TOO fancy since I knew only Tyler and Dash would be witness to my hairdo… or don’t ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) So, here it is… the fully styled look! ๐Ÿ™‚

I never went back and had them “fix” it to straight bangs… I have done a little snipping myself (*gulp*) and I’ve decided to just let it be until I go get it cut again! ๐Ÿ™‚ (And as you can see, I did NOT clean the bathroom mirror… sorry…)
On our way to Date Night, we stopped by campus so I could return a couple of movies and books to the library… (Closed at 7pm, I walked in at 6:40pm… Procrastinator much?) Low and behold, upon our arrival, NUBBY showed up! I have mentioned Nubby – our campus’ tail-less squirrel before but this time Tyler got to see him! Isn’t he cute? I tried to get some other pictures but he’s a quick one. I managed to get literally his back foot and, in another shot, him climbing up the backside of a light pole… needless to say, this is the best I could do. ๐Ÿ™‚ Isn’t he cute?!

For Date Night we saw The Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. It was a really good movie that sparked a very philosophical conversation between Tyler and I. Very interesting to think about, and a really great movie. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m pretty sure we also bought out the concession stand… Instead of “dinner and a movie,” we did “dinner IN a movie.” We brought our “loyalty” cups, got a bag of popcorn, a mega-cinnamon pretzel for me, and a mini pizza and cheese sticks for Tyler… $25 later, we were set! Ha. We had a fun time though.
And lastly, as I’m sure you’re all aware… tonight was the “Super Moon!” and we caught a glimpse of it! It was big, and it was bright! Very cool and glad I am able to say “I saw it!”

Tomorrow is the usual Sunday routine… laundry (the first day I will have to wake up “early” during the break)… grocery shopping, Walmart run, and more homework. It’s like the first day of school all over again… and yes, I’ll probably get the nervous-anxiety… still after 18 years of school, I get butterflies when going back… yuck. So… off to get some more homework done…
Until Next Time,

New Look!

TWO new looks! 1- HAIR! 2- The Blog!

I’ve been trying to decide if I wanted to get bangs for a while now… and I decided to just go for it! I’m still toying with them… I might even head back tomorrow to “finish them off.” I got them cut as “sweeping” bangs, but I’m not sure how I like them as sweeping bangs… I was originally toying with “straight” bangs, but I wasn’t sure I could pull them off. So I settled for short sweeping bangs. When I got home I immediately headed to the bathroom to restyle them myself, and I made the straight bangs… So maybe, I’ll just leave them for a while, and train them to be straight bangs. I like them. I just wanted a more “mature” look… I just needed a change. So… Before….

and After….

๐Ÿ™‚ What do you think? (And PLEASE ignore my extremely dirty mirror… I might go clean that right now actually… YIKES!)

I’m also still toying around with the new background. I LOVE the background, but i didn’t realize how difficult it was going to be to read. I adjusted the font colors but I’m still not sure I am totally in love with it yet. We’ll see… I haven’t been by frequently enough though.

It’s Spring Break…. Well… almost the end now. I’ve been mildly productive.. Nothing TOO crazy. I can’t believe it’s almost over already. Plus, there are only 6 weeks left in the semester… now THAT I can’t believe! I have my enrollment meeting with my advisor on Monday to enroll in my LAST TWO SEMESTERS EVER! That’s weird…

Other than that… things are just rolling along. I got my engagement ring cleaned tonight while we were at the mall…. Can you believe Tyler and I have been engaged for 6 months already? (As of next Thursday that is!) While we were at the jewelers I tried on a couple of wedding bands. I have a pretty good idea of what I want. AH. I still can’t believe we’re getting married! OH… and my WEDDING dress arrived in KC yesterday! How weird! Now we just have to start tackling things on the to-do list! September 2012 will be here before we know it!

Well, that’s all for now!

Until Next Time,
